Maina-Curtorim police station has come under intense scrutiny following serious allegations of police brutality and sexual harassment levelled against police personnel attached to the station.
Five youths, including a minor, had recently accused five police officers of allegedly assaulting them inside the police station premises. The complainants also alleged verbal abuse, physical assault, and sexual harassment during the incident.
Following the allegations, the Goa Police Department initiated action against the officers involved. So far, two PSIs and three constables have been suspended in connection with the case.
