A 23-year-old intern doctor attached to Goa Medical College (GMC) was found dead at Hawaii Beach in Dona Paula, police said, triggering shock and grief among the medical fraternity.
The deceased has been identified as Gauri Narayanan, an intern doctor at GMC. Her body was recovered from the beach area and later shifted for medico-legal formalities.
Sources said the exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
A postmortem examination has already been conducted, however, doctors stated that the final opinion regarding the cause of death will be issued only after the viscera analysis report is received.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are examining all possible angles surrounding the young doctor’s death.
