The Goa Police Department has ordered a preliminary inquiry following allegations of illegal money collection by police personnel attached to Collem Police Station, which surfaced through a purported sting operation circulated by media on June 12, 2026.
Taking serious note of the viral content, the South Goa Police administration has directed the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Ponda, to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the matter and submit a report within two days.
In an official statement, the Superintendent of Police, South Goa, stated that necessary departmental action would be initiated against any police personnel found guilty during the course of the inquiry.
