Ankurkumar Sanjay Prasad is a ten-year-old boy studying at Government Primary School in Cumbharjua. He was known as just a student but is now a braveheart and admired by all in Goa. The young innocent lad sensed danger at the right moment when three young boys went to the river during the Kumbharjuvekarin Palkhi. Some children were playing Gulal when the colour entered the eyes of a boy. He went to a river nearby to wash his eyes. He slipped while he washed his legs. Vijaykumar, Aryan and Mukesh, three young boys who did not know how to swim, ventured into the river, but started drowning. Ankur alerted people around him after he realized his friends were in danger, but people took it for granted. He decided to dive into the river and rescue them after he failed to receive help from around him. He also managed to get all the water out by pressing Vijaykumar's chest and stomach. Vijaykumar was shifted to GMC and he was out of danger. Ankur, as a child, was innocently scared despite the brave act. He did not attend school for two days, fearing any negative consequences. But the news about his valour reached people in and around Goa. CM Pramod Sawant, along with his teachers, friends and people around, lauded his brave and courageous act. Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar will make a congratulatory reference to this braveheart tomorrow, the final day of the current assembly session. Prudent Media visited Ankur. He is the son of a labourer. He lives in a rented place along with his parents and sister. He is a native of Bihar.
