The Registrar General of India (RGI) and the Union Ministry for Tribal Affairs have officially rejected Goa's proposal to grant Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Dhangar community.
In response, the Gomantak Dhangar Samajonnati Mandal (GDSM) held a meeting in Margao, where members strongly demanded the need for this reservation.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sawant stated that discussions regarding ST status for the community are still ongoing.
