A suspected case of food poisoning involving a group of tourists from Kerala was reported in Goa, with 28 people requiring medical attention at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, on the night of 9 June.
According to SGDH Superintendent Dr. Rajendra Borkar, the affected tourists were brought to the hospital after falling ill following a meal reportedly consumed in Old Goa.
“We had a mass casualty of food poisoning at South Goa District Hospital on 9th June. Some patients from Kerala, who had come as tourists, were affected, and 28 of them suffered food poisoning. Of those 28 people, 25 were fine; they were given necessary treatment and discharged. Three of them were admitted but were stable and later chose to go home against medical advice,†Dr. Borkar said.
